Kirill Kotshegarov of Aqris sponsored 21CC triathlon club wins Ironman

Aqris is a proud sponsor of 21CC triathlon club.

The 07.11.2009 Ford Ironman Florida 2009 edition was won by first-time Ironman Champions Kirill Kotshegarov of Estonia in 8 hours, 24 minutes and 39 seconds which is also a new Estonian record!

While not in the top 10 after the swim, Kotshegarov had steadily moved through the field behind race leader Luke McKenzie at the end of the bike. McKenzie was able to hold him off early on the run, but faded on the second half and Kotshegarov took the lead. He was followed by Maxim Kriat from the Ukraine and Massimo Cigana of Italy.

The day began under clear skies with 2,421 athletes entering the Gulf of Mexico to start their Ironman journey comprised of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike and a 26.2-mile marathon. The race takes place in Panama City Beach and the surrounding area featuring a scenic and fast course.
